Anes

The ferry company ANES, established in 1979 primarily by residents of Symi and Rhodes, islands in the Dodecanese, had a specific goal: to facilitate and strengthen the commercial and tourist traffic of Symi. The company aimed to connect Symi to the neighboring island of Rhodes, with the overarching objective of encouraging residents to live permanently on their island.

As time progressed, the activities of ANES expanded beyond its initial focus. Today, the ferry company serves multiple itineraries, extending its reach beyond the Rhodes-Symi connection. In addition to the route between Rhodes and Symi, ANES operates ferries on the itinerary from Piraeus to Aegina. Furthermore, it provides ferry services from Volos to Skiathos, Skopelos, and Alonissos.

This expansion of services showcases ANES's commitment to enhancing connectivity across various Greek islands and catering to both local residents and tourists. The company's continued operations on multiple routes contribute to the accessibility and transportation options available within the region.

  • Bad and dirty

Charcoal/ oil flakes came out of a grate and stained clothing. Crew inattentive and disorganised. Many smokers on each deck got ash everywhere, and all the passengers were very rude. Avoid.

  • Good ferry - but complicated when trip is cancelled

I had a lovely ride with ANES the first time and the price is amazing. My second booking was cancelled by ANES and you don't get your money back automatically. You have to run after it, write 4 emails to ANES directly (FerriesinGreece has nothing to do with it and doesn't concern with cancelations) and even after 3 weeks I still haven't gotten my money back. This is very unfortunate and not customer friendly. You should get your money back automatically if a trip is cancelled on you.

  • We will prefer you again

    [Translated from greek]
I was travelling on 20/6/22 from Agios Konstantinos to Skopelos with the ferry Symi and I was informed by message late at night on 19/6/22 that the route will not take place due to a breakdown and that I have to go from Mantoudi or Volos (2 hours further away from my place of residence). Finally, I go to Volos and with the Express Skiathos I went to my destination in Skopelos. I depart on 25/6/22 from Glossa Skopelos to Agios Konstantinos with the ferry Symi. ...From the staircase I entered it stank up to the cabin oil, it was rubbing all over...again it broke down and in the middle of the journey I was watching the crew with buckets trying to get the water out where it had filled the lounge where we were sitting from a pipe as they informed me when I asked them why no one would say what was going on... With the junk they have to "serve" the people we gave a load of money for the coasters nor do they maintain anything!!!!! We will prefer you again.

  • Serious company

We used the Anes company for a Rhodes -Symi one-way trip then a return to Rhodes a week later. During these 2 trips we found this company to be very serious: checking the sanitary passes in the smallest details and punctuality of the schedules which is rare according to our many experiences in Greece.

  • Mantoudi to Skopelos

Traveled from Mantoudi to Skopelos with return with this company in August. Good organization, nice ferry for a 90min trip although it seems quite old. But generally it was renovated and recoloured. Very expensive bar.

  • Lousy quality for a very high price. I think ferry had at least 40 years, full of dirty and mess. Unfortunately, there are only few transits a day, so they have a kind of monopol, and clients have no alternative.
